Station Building Thermal Environment [Case Study]
Introduction of a case study aimed at understanding the thermal environment in the concourse and corridors of the station building!
[Purpose of Analysis] This is an analysis case aimed at understanding the thermal environment in areas where people move, such as concourses and corridors, when constructing a train station building. Due to the influence of the window arrangement of the station building and the solar radiation that passes through those windows, as well as the fluctuations in the number of people staying inside the station at different times, the thermal environment varies by time. As a result, it is currently challenging to grasp the thermal environment during the basic design phase of the station building. In this analysis case, we modeled a hypothetical train station in a regional city during the summer at 4 PM using WindPerfectDX. We considered the solar radiation load transmitted, absorbed, and re-radiated by the fixed windows on the west side of the concourse, the heat load from human bodies and lighting, and the convective load from the roof and walls, with the aim of understanding the thermal environment in the concourse and corridors of the station building.
